Open the profile, find the rule on the Scope section, and click the trash icon at the end of its row. Then click Save. The change only applies once you save the profile. Future scans stop using the rule.
Steps
- Open the profile. Press the pencil icon on its row in Scan Profiles, or use Edit on the target page.
- Find the rule. Stay on the Scope section and scroll to Scope rules. Focus rules and Avoid rules sit in two blocks.
- Click the trash icon. At the end of the rule's row you will see a trash icon. Click it and the row goes.
- Check the block. When the last rule leaves a block, it shows "No rules." again.
- Save. Click Save. Without this step, the rule stays.
Good to know
Deleting a rule does not touch past scans or their findings. It only changes what future runs of this profile do, so earlier reports stay exactly as they were when they were made.
Want to keep a rule for later? Copy its Description, Type and Value into a note first, since a deleted row cannot be brought back from the form. If you changed your mind before saving, click Cancel in the top right to leave the form without applying any change.
You can also edit a rule instead of deleting it. Change the Description, Type or Value in place and save. For ideas on what to keep, read focus rules compared with avoid rules. If the trash icon does nothing, refresh the page and try again, then write to /contact.
