Targets & repositories

Where can I see whether a target's ownership has been verified?

Quick answer

Click the target in the Targets list and scroll to the Ownership verification card. A Verified badge, with the text "Black-box scans can run", means ownership is confirmed. The card only appears on black-box targets.

Ownership status lives on the target page. The Targets list does not show it.

Steps

  1. Click Targets in the sidebar.
  2. Type part of the name in the search box if the list is long, then click the row. The detail page opens at once.
  3. Scroll past Target details to the Ownership verification card.
  4. Read the badge. Verified comes with a line such as "Ownership confirmed via Cyberlop staff on" and a date, then "Black-box scans can run."

Good to know

The target detail page is a single scrolling page made of cards. It has no inner tabs, so there is no hidden section to hunt for, and everything about the target sits in one place from top to bottom. The same page also lists the scan profiles for the target at the bottom, which is handy once you are ready to run something.

What you seeWhat it means
Ownership verification card with VerifiedBlack-box scans can run
No Ownership verification cardThe target has a repository, so it is a white-box target
Card present, no Verified badgeOwnership still needs proving

Each target carries its own proof, which means a teammate may see a Verified badge on one target and nothing on another. That is normal. Use the same card each time.

The captured pages only show verified targets, so the wording for an unverified one is shown in the app itself. If the card is missing on a target you expect to be black-box, read why the card is missing. If you are stuck, use /contact.
