Troubleshooting

Why can't I see my saved token or key any more?

Quick answer

Cyberlop hides every saved token, key and password after you save it, so the field looks empty or shows dots. That is by design. Check the status label to see whether a secret exists. To change it, paste a new value and save again.

Why this happens

Cyberlop encrypts secrets at rest. Once you save one, the app never shows it again, not even to you or to an administrator. A line beside the shield icon says so: "Secrets are encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving."

This protects you. A page that could print your key could also leak it, so the field stays empty or shows dots, and the help text reads leave blank to keep current. Nothing has gone missing.

How to fix it

  1. Open My Account for your own Git token or AI credential. Open Settings for the organisation ones, under Git Access or AI Provider.
  2. Check the status on the right of the card. A card with nothing saved says Not set. On Settings, a pill reading "A Git token is configured." confirms one exists.
  3. If you still have the original, paste it into the password field. If you lost it, create a fresh token at your code host or AI provider and paste that instead.
  4. Press the save button on that card. A blank field keeps whatever Cyberlop already holds.
  5. On Settings, press Verify to confirm the credential works. Clear removes it.
