Cyberlop uses six severity levels: Critical, High, Medium, Low, Informational and Best Practice. Each is a coloured badge on the finding. The list puts Critical first. Severity is separate from confidence, which has its own three levels.
The short version
Severity says how serious a finding would be if it is real. There are six levels, listed here from most to least serious.
How it works in Cyberlop
| Level | Badge colour |
|---|---|
| Critical | Red |
| High | Amber |
| Medium | Violet |
| Low | Blue |
| Informational | Grey |
| Best Practice | Dark grey |
You see them in several places. Both the Issues table and a scan's Findings tab carry a Severity column. The dashboard counts findings by severity. A scan's Overview shows a donut chart with the same six counts.
The Issues page has a severity filter, and the Reporting section of a profile sets a minimum severity for what reaches the report. Findings below that line are left out.
If several agents grade the same issue differently, the merged finding takes the highest severity of the group.
Severity is not confidence. Confidence is High, Medium or Low, and it says how sure the scan is. A Critical finding can have Low confidence. Read severity versus confidence.
What to do next
Work from the top: filter to Critical and High, and check confidence on each. See how to show only critical findings and how to filter by confidence.
Wondering about merged ratings? Read what happens when agents disagree. The severity and confidence tutorial has more detail.
The colours are a quick visual guide, but the word on the badge is the real signal, so do not rely on colour alone when you share a screenshot with a colleague who may see it differently. Say the level aloud. Name it in writing.
