Why can't I find a teammate in the Assignee list?
The Assignee list shows Unassigned plus each eligible workspace member. A teammate is missing if they have no account in your workspace, or if their role or group access does not let them take that issue. An admin can add them or change their access.
Why this happens
The list has the entry Unassigned, then each workspace member as "Name (email)". It holds the users who may take that issue. The API calls the same list "Users who may be assigned this issue", which hints that not every account qualifies.
Two reasons explain most cases:
- The person has no account in this workspace yet. Workspaces stay separate, so an account in another organisation does not count.
- The account exists, but its role or group scope does not cover the target of that issue, so the issue cannot go to them.
How to fix it
- Open the finding on Issues and click the Assignee list. Note who is shown.
- Confirm your teammate uses the same workspace. The workspace name is in the header.
- Ask an admin to check Administration for the account. If it is missing, the admin can add the teammate.
- Ask the admin to check the teammate's role and group scope against the target.
- Reopen the finding. Pick the teammate, then click Update status.
Administration is for admins only, and the capture does not show its screens, so your admin will guide the exact clicks.
Still not working?
Try another finding on a different target. If the teammate shows there, the cause is scope, not the account. You can also contact us and name the teammate's email. Our page on adding a teammate covers new accounts, and how to assign a finding shows the normal flow. The triage tutorial adds context.
