Open the finding from Issues or a scan, choose a teammate in the Assignee list at the top of the dialog, then click Update status. The list holds the members of your workspace. Cyberlop keeps the change on the finding and logs it in the Activity feed.
Every finding has an Assignee list in the top bar of its dialog. Use it to give a finding one clear owner.
Steps
- Click Issues in the sidebar and click the finding. You can also open a scan, choose the Findings tab and click the row there.
- In the top bar, open Assignee. The options are Unassigned and each member of your workspace, each with a name and an email.
- Choose the person who will fix it.
- Click Update status.
Good to know
Nothing sticks until you click Update status. Closing the dialog first drops the change.
To remove an owner, choose Unassigned and save again.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Disposition | The finding's state: Open (reopen), Fixed, False Positive or Accepted Risk. |
| Assignee | The person who owns the fix. |
| Update status | Saves disposition, assignee and notes in one go. |
A teammate may be missing from the list. The app offers only users who may take that issue. Read why a teammate is not in the assignee list if that happens.
Assignments appear in the Activity feed, with the person who made the change. For the full triage routine, see the triage tutorial.
Assigning early pays off, because a finding with no owner tends to sit in the list while everyone assumes someone else has it. Pick the person who knows that part of the code. Ask the person first if you can, since an owner who did not expect the finding may need a short chat about the context before they can start. Keep it simple.
