Scan profiles
Why won't a profile set to my scan agent start a scan?
A profile pinned to a scan agent only runs while that agent is online. Open Settings, then Scan Agents, and read its status. For an offline or pending agent, start its container on your network, or set the profile's Scan location back to Cyberlop cloud.
Why this happens
The Scan location menu on a profile offers "Cyberlop cloud (default)" and any registered internal agents. Its help text says an offline agent must be online before a scan can run. An agent reads as offline when its heartbeat stops. The machine may be off, the container may have stopped, or outbound HTTPS may be blocked.
A new agent starts as pending, and it only turns online after you run its container command once on a machine that can reach both your network and the internet.
How to fix it
- Open Settings and click the Scan Agents tab.
- Find your agent in the table. It shows a Name, a Status (pending, online or offline) and a Last seen time.
- Pending means it has not connected yet. Run the container command from enrolment on a machine inside your network, which needs outbound HTTPS to app.cyberlop.com and no inbound ports.
- Offline means the heartbeat stopped. Check that the container still runs on that machine and that the machine can reach the internet over HTTPS.
- Wait for the status to read online, then go back and click Scan on the profile.
- Cannot bring the agent up? Edit the profile and set Scan location to "Cyberlop cloud (default)". Do this only when the cloud can really reach your app and repository.
Still not working?
- The enrolment token appears only once. The app does not show a way to get it back, so ask an admin or contact us.
- Revoked agents send their profiles back to the Cyberlop cloud. Open the profile and check the Scan location.
- An internal app that the cloud cannot reach will fail if you switch back to the cloud, so fix the agent instead.
