I removed a scan agent. Where do my profiles' scans run now?
Removing a scan agent sends every profile that used it back to the Cyberlop cloud. Later scans of those profiles run in the cloud, which may not reach an internal app. Add a new agent and choose it as the Scan location again.
Why this happens
Removing an agent means revoking it. That invalidates the agent’s key at once, and the documentation states the result: profiles pinned to it revert to the Cyberlop cloud. Cyberlop does not ask you about each profile. The change can slip by unnoticed.
Cloud is the default scan location, so it catches every profile that loses its agent. A scan there clones the repository on Cyberlop infrastructure and reaches the live URL from outside your network. For an internal app the cloud may fail to reach it, and Cyberlop clones your code in the cloud rather than leaving it on your side. Check first. Do it before you run anything sensitive, because a quiet switch to the cloud is exactly the kind of surprise you want to avoid.
How to fix it
- Open Settings and choose Scan Agents.
- Enter a name in New agent name and press Add agent. Copy the one-time enrollment token and the ready-to-run container command. Cyberlop shows them once.
- Run the command on a machine inside the target’s network. It needs Docker and outbound HTTPS only.
- Watch the status move from pending to online. That tells you the agent started, reached Cyberlop over outbound HTTPS and is ready for work.
- Open each affected profile, set Scan location to your agent and press Save.
Still not working?
- Hold off on new scans of internal apps until the agent shows online.
- An offline agent must come back online before a scan can run on it.
- See agent stuck on pending and agent shows offline.
