Results & findings

Searching for a finding ID on the Issues page finds nothing. Why?

Quick answer

The Issues search box is built for titles and locations. Its prompt reads "Search findings by title or location", so an ID like INJ-VULN-02 returns nothing. Search for a word from the title or the file or path instead, or narrow the list with the filters.

Why this happens

Each finding has an ID, for example INJ-VULN-02. The ID appears in the issue dialog. The search box on Issues is not set up for it. Its prompt reads Search findings by title or location..., which is what it matches.

Titles are one-line summaries of the problem, such as a missing header or an injectable field. Locations are shown in monospace: an HTTP method and path for a black-box finding, or a source file and line range for a white-box one.

How to fix it

  1. Open Issues from the sidebar.
  2. Clear the search box and type a word from the title, such as injection or Content-Security-Policy.
  3. Or type part of the location, such as a path like /search or a file name.
  4. Use the four dropdowns to narrow the list: Severity, Confidence, Class and Target.
  5. Click the row to open the dialog and confirm the ID.

The class often matches the ID prefix. An injection finding sits under Injection, so choosing that class gets you most of the way.

Still not working?

  • Check the triage chips. In Hiding mode, selected statuses are hidden, so a fixed finding may be out of the list. Switch to Showing only or clear the chips.
  • Make sure the Target dropdown reads All targets.
  • Confirm the Severity, Confidence and Class dropdowns still say All, because a leftover filter hides rows without any warning.
  • Issues from a scan you cannot see will not appear. See why some targets are missing.

The ID is still useful once you are inside a finding, because it is the stable name you can quote to a teammate or write in a ticket. Still stuck? Contact us with the title you expect. For more search tips, read how to search findings and the Issues list tutorial.
