How do I show only New and Regression findings?
On Issues, click the first triage chip until it reads Showing only, then select New and Regression. Only findings in those states stay in the table. This gives you the items that need a first look or have come back. Deselect the chips to reset.
Use Showing only mode when you want a short list of what changed. New findings are first-time detections. Regressions are ones that came back.
Steps
- Open Issues.
- Click the first chip in the triage row. It toggles between Hiding and Showing only. Stop when it reads Showing only.
- Click New.
- Click Regression.
Good to know
Only the two selected states remain. Fixed, False Positive and Accepted Risk rows drop out, because they are not selected.
| State | Means |
|---|---|
| New | Found for the first time |
| Regression | Was fixed, then found again |
This view works well after each scan. Add a severity filter on top and you get a to-do list in priority order.
If the list is empty, that can be good news. It may mean the last scan found nothing new. To be sure, check the scan's Diff tab, which compares it with the one before. Read how to compare a scan with the previous one.
You can also use the other direction. Switch to Hiding and select Fixed, False Positive and Accepted Risk to remove closed items. That ends with a similar list, but it also keeps any other states visible.
The regressions guide explains how to tell why a finding returned.
After a scan finishes, this is a good first view, because it shows exactly the items your team has not seen before and the ones that slipped back, with everything already handled kept out of the way. Look here first. Then triage.
