Why do some confidence values look faded in the Issues list?
The Issues list shows Low confidence values dimmed on purpose. It is a quiet warning that the scan is less sure the finding is real. Severity stays the same. Open the finding, read the Evidence tab, and decide whether it is worth fixing or closing.
Why this happens
Faded text in the Confidence column means Low. High and Medium look normal. The dimming is deliberate, and it exists so that your eye lands on the stronger findings first when you scan a long list. The dimming is a visual hint, not a bug and not a setting you can switch off.
How confidence works
Every finding has a severity and a confidence, and the two are kept apart. A Critical finding can still carry Low confidence, so a faded cell never means the finding is minor. In the sample list, business-logic findings such as "likely accepts negative amounts" show Critical severity with Low confidence. The scan saw signs of a flaw. It did not fully prove it.
| Confidence | How it looks | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| High | Normal | The scan is sure |
| Medium | Normal | Fairly sure |
| Low | Dimmed | Less sure, so check first |
Confidence is not the same as status. Status records how far the scan got in proving the issue, from Confirmed through Likely to Unconfirmed, while confidence records how sure the scan is. Read both.
How to fix it
- Click the row and read the Description and the Evidence tab. A request, response and screenshot settle most doubts.
- Use the Confidence dropdown to list only Low items, or to hide them while you work through the strong ones.
- If you decide it is wrong, mark it False Positive and say why in Notes. If it is real but you accept it, choose Accepted Risk.
- To keep weak items out of reports, set a minimum confidence in the profile's Reporting section.
Still not working?
Nothing is broken when the text looks faded. If a Low item looks wrong to you, say so in Notes and mark it False Positive, then tell us.
