Running scans

I clicked Scan on Recent Scans and a new scan started instead of opening the old one. Why?

Quick answer

On Recent Scans, the Scan button re-runs the same profile and starts a new scan at once. To open the old scan, click its row anywhere except the buttons. If you started a new run by accident, cancel it.

Why this happens

The Actions column holds three controls. The play-triangle Scan button re-runs the same profile. Report downloads the PDF, and the red bin deletes the scan. All three act at once, so a click on Scan starts work right away.

To read a scan, click the row itself. A click anywhere except the buttons opens the scan detail page, which holds the overview, the findings, the sitemap and the diff.

Run the profile againScan
Download the PDFReport (completed scans only)
Remove the runThe red bin

How to fix it

  1. Look at the top of Recent Scans. The new run carries the time of your click.
  2. Do you want to stop it? Read how to cancel a running scan and follow the steps.
  3. Click the older row, on the target or profile name, to open its detail.
  4. Use Overview, Findings, Sitemap and Diff to read it.

Still not working?

Search the list with "Search scans by target or profile..." to find the old row faster. A new run adds to the count under Scans this month in Settings → Plan & usage, so cancel early if you did not mean to start it. Questions? Visit our contact page.
