Quick answer
Open Groups in the sidebar and click + New group. Enter a name and an optional description, add profiles by tag, by ticking them in the list, or both, then click Create group. Groups gather scan profiles into sets, and the sets help limit access.
Steps
- Click Groups in the sidebar. A new workspace shows No groups yet with the hint Create a group to organize scan profiles.
- Click + New group. A dialog opens.
- Type a Name. The example in the box is Payments services.
- Add a Description if you like. It is optional.
- Choose the members. Use Add by tag, Select profiles, or both. The next two guides cover each way in detail.
- Look at the counter under the list. It reads, for example, 0 profile(s) explicitly selected.
- Click Create group, or Cancel to leave without saving.
Good to know
A group is a set of scan profiles. Fill it by hand, by tag, or with a mix of both. Tag-based membership suits a set that grows over time, and hand-picked membership suits a small, fixed list.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | A short label, such as Payments services |
| Description | Optional note on what the group is for |
| Add by tag | One or more tags, whose profiles all join |
| Select profiles | Tick individual profiles, with a search box to find them |
- Groups matter for access. The API describes them as access-control scoping, and every token carries the group scope of the person who owns it, which limits what a pipeline can scan.
- Making a group needs the
group:createpermission. If the button is missing, ask an admin. - Later changes and deletion are covered in how to update or delete a group.
