The Dashboard is read-only, so it has no Scan button to find. Start a scan with the Scan button on a profile row (Scan Profiles or the target page), on a target row in Targets, or re-run one from Recent Scans.
Why this happens
The Dashboard is a summary page. It has no buttons at all. Its rows only link to a target or a scan. That is by design, and it is not a permission problem.
How to fix it
Start the scan from one of these places:
- Scan Profiles. Use the Scan button on the profile row.
- Targets. Press Scan on the target row ("Scan this target").
- Target page. Use Scan at the top, or on a row in the Scan profiles card.
- Recent Scans. Click Scan on a past run to run it again.
The scan begins straight away. You can leave the page, because the run is durable. Then open Recent Scans to follow it.
Still not working?
- The target must have a repository for a white-box scan. Without one you will see a message that asks you to add a Git repository URL to run a scan
- A black-box target must be verified first. Check the Ownership verification card on the target page.
- You may not have permission to run scans. The permission is called
scan:run. Ask an admin to check your role. - Your plan limits how many scans can run at once and per month. See Settings → Plan & usage.
If you are used to tools with a big Start button on the home page, this layout takes a day to get used to. The idea is that a scan always belongs to a profile, so the button lives on the profile row where the settings are visible.
If the button is still missing on a profile row, contact us. Also read what the Dashboard shows.
