Getting started

How can I see which role I'm signed in with?

Quick answer

Look at the header at the top of any page. Your email address is shown with a role badge beside it, such as SuperAdmin. The badge is the role you hold in this workspace, and it decides which menu items and actions you get.

Steps

  1. Open any page in Cyberlop.
  2. Look at the header. Find your email address, just before the theme toggle.
  3. Read the badge beside it. It names your role, for example SuperAdmin.
  4. Compare it with your sidebar. An admin sees Administration. Other roles do not.

Good to know

  • Built-in roles include SuperAdmin and Developer. An organisation can also create custom roles with their own names.
  • Permissions follow an area:action pattern, such as target:create, scan:run and issue:triage. A role is a bundle of these.
  • The badge shows the role name only. It does not list the permissions inside it. The full list of permissions sits with your admin, in Administration.
  • The role also changes what you see in the Activity feed. The Security page says administrators see the whole organisation, team leads see their team, and everyone else sees their own actions.

If a button is missing or an action is refused, your role may not include that permission. Ask an admin in your organisation to check it. See also why Administration is missing and why a target has no Edit button.

Roles matter most when something is blocked. A developer who can run scans but not change settings will see a smaller sidebar than an admin, and that is working as intended, so check the badge before you report a missing page as a fault.

Think your role is wrong? Tell your admin first. If nobody can fix it, contact us.
