Troubleshooting

My scan agent is online, but scans still run in the Cyberlop cloud. Why?

Quick answer

The scan profile decides where a scan runs, and new profiles default to Cyberlop cloud. An online agent does nothing until you open the profile, set Scan location to that agent and save. Then start a new scan and check the Location column.

Why this happens

Location is a setting on each scan profile. It is not a switch for the whole workspace. The default is Cyberlop cloud (default). Registering an agent in Settings → Scan Agents only adds it to the list of choices. Nothing moves until a profile picks it, even when the agent shows as online and has checked in just now.

A scan that already ran stays where it ran. Changing the profile affects only the next scan, so do not expect old rows in Recent Scans to change their location after you edit the profile.

How to fix it

  1. Open Scan Profiles and click edit on the profile you scan.
  2. In Scope, find Scan location.
  3. Choose your agent from the list. A registered agent appears there with the cloud option.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Scan on the profile. Then open Recent Scans and read the Location column.

Still not working?

If your agent is missing from the list, check its status in Settings → Scan Agents, where the table shows Last seen and an offline agent must come back online before a scan can run on it. If someone revoked the agent, its profiles went back to the Cyberlop cloud, so register the agent again and reselect it.

Pick the agent on every profile that needs it, because only profiles set to that agent will run there. That is also what keeps the code of an app on your own network inside that network. Read why an agent is missing from Scan location or write to our contact page.
