Running scans

What do Completed, Failed and Cancelled mean on a scan?

Quick answer

Completed means the scan ran to the end and a PDF report is available. Failed means it could not finish, though it may still hold findings from before it stopped. Cancelled means someone stopped it early. The badge sits in the Result column of Recent Scans.

The short version

Every scan ends with one of three result badges, and you see them in the Result column of Recent Scans and again at the top of the scan page. Three states. That is all.

BadgeColourMeaning
CompletedGreenThe scan ran to the end. A Report button appears in the row.
FailedRedThe scan could not be completed. A red banner explains the next step.
CancelledGreyThe scan was stopped before it finished.

How it works in Cyberlop

Completed. This is the only state that offers the PDF report from the list, and opening the row shows the severity breakdown, the cost and the tokens used. Good news.

Failed. A red banner on the scan page reads Scan failed. The scan could not be completed. Please try again, or contact your administrator if the problem persists. A failed scan can still hold findings that it found before it stopped. Read what the failed banner means for the checks to make.

Cancelled. Someone stopped the run before it finished, and the Activity feed records this as a Cancel · Scan entry so you can see who did it. Anything found before the stop stays on the scan.

Failed and Cancelled scans stay in the list until you delete them. Deleting a scan keeps the target's findings, so nothing you triaged is lost when you tidy up the list.

What to do next

  • Click Scan in any row to run that profile again.
  • Open a Failed row and check its Findings tab for partial results.
  • Use the search box to find one scan by target or profile name.
  • Read the tutorial on failed or cancelled scans for the full walk-through.
