Scheduling & automation

How is a recurring schedule's timing worked out?

Quick answer

A recurring schedule takes its Start date & time as an anchor and repeats from there at the chosen frequency. The start is read in the timezone set under Settings, Organization. So a weekly schedule started on a Monday at 02:00 keeps meeting Mondays at 02:00.

The short version

Three inputs decide when a scan runs: the start date and time, the frequency, and the organisation timezone. Change any one and the timing changes.

How it works in Cyberlop

The New schedule dialog says it plainly: "The recurring cadence is anchored to this date and time." The start is the first run, and each later run follows the frequency from that point.

For example, a Daily schedule that starts at 09:30 will run at 09:30 each day. A Weekly one starting on a Wednesday will run each Wednesday. A Monthly or Quarterly schedule repeats on a month-based rhythm from its start date.

Edge cases, such as a monthly start on the 31st, are not described in the product text I have, so avoid starting on the last days of a month if the exact day matters to you.

The timezone is one setting for the whole organisation, and recurring scans run at their start time in that zone, including across daylight-saving changes.

What to do next

  • Pick a start you are happy to repeat. Moving it later means making a new schedule or updating the old one.
  • Check Settings → Organization before you create it.
  • Read which frequencies are available to choose the rhythm.
