Do scheduled scans shift when daylight saving time changes?
Scheduled scans do not drift when clocks change. The app says recurring scans run at their start time in the organisation timezone, including across daylight-saving changes. A 02:00 scan stays at 02:00 local time. In UTC, the hour moves when the zone does.
The short version
The schedule follows the wall clock of the timezone you chose. If your zone moves its clocks by an hour, the scan moves with it, so it still starts at the same local time.
How it works in Cyberlop
The timezone lives in Settings → Organization, under Timezone for schedules. Its help text says: "Recurring scans run at their start time in this timezone, including across daylight-saving changes."
| If your timezone is | What happens |
|---|---|
| A named zone that changes its clocks | The scan keeps its local start time. Its UTC time changes by the clock shift. |
| UTC (the default) | UTC has no clock changes, so nothing shifts. |
This matters if other systems run on UTC. A deploy that starts at a fixed UTC hour, for example, can overlap with a scan that stays on local time for part of the year, so check any such clashes after a clock change.
Pick a named IANA zone for your region. A fixed UTC setting never follows local clocks, which is fine only if your team is happy to think in UTC.
What to do next
- Open Settings → Organization and confirm the zone.
- Look at your next few runs in Recent Scans after a clock change.
- Read why a scan ran at the wrong hour if something looks off.
