How do I change the timezone scheduled scans use?
Go to Settings, open the Organization tab, pick your zone in Timezone for schedules, and click Save changes. It holds 419 IANA timezones and starts at UTC. Recurring scans then run at their start time in that zone.
Steps
- Click Settings in the sidebar. The Organization tab opens first.
- Find Timezone for schedules. It is a select list of IANA timezones, with UTC as the default.
- Choose the zone that matches where your team works, and prefer a named city zone because it follows local clock changes.
- Click Save changes at the bottom of the tab.
- Open Scheduled Scans and check the start times you expect.
Good to know
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Timezone for schedules | One zone from the IANA list. UTC is the default. |
| Save changes | Saves this tab, including company name, retention and report logo. |
The help text under the field reads: "Recurring scans run at their start time in this timezone, including across daylight-saving changes." The timezone belongs to the whole organisation, not to one schedule or one person.
Pick a named city zone, not a fixed offset, if your region changes its clocks. The list is built from IANA names, and those names carry the clock-change rules with them.
The capture does not say what happens to schedules that already exist when you switch zones, so check the next run times after you change it. Use the schedule dialog to confirm that your start times read as intended.
For how the start time works, see how to choose the time a scheduled scan runs. If a run came at the wrong hour, read why a scan ran at the wrong hour. Other questions? contact us.
