Scheduling & automation

How can I tell whether a scan was started by a schedule?

Quick answer

Look at the Trigger row in Run details on the scan's Overview tab. A trigger badge also sits beside the status badge in the page header. Manual runs say Manual, and the capture notes that scheduled runs would show the schedule instead.

The short version

Every scan records how it began. Three spots on the scan page tell you, and the Activity feed carries the same fact.

How it works in Cyberlop

WhereWhat you see
Header badgesA status badge such as Completed, and a trigger badge such as Manual
Header subtitle"Profile: name · Manual run · Scan id" for a manual black-box run
Overview, Run detailsA Trigger row, next to Status, Location, Cost and Profile
Activity feedStart · Scan entries with a "Trigger" chip, such as Trigger: manual

To check a run, go to Recent Scans and click its row, then read the Overview tab, where a run you started by clicking Scan shows Manual.

Only manual runs were available in the captured data, so I cannot quote the exact label a scheduled run shows. The capture says a scheduled run would show the schedule in the Trigger row. Check one of your own scheduled runs once it has happened, and you will see the wording in your account.

The Run by column in Recent Scans is a second clue. It shows the person who started a run, so a run with a person's email was started by that person.

What to do next

  1. Open the scan and read the Trigger row.
  2. Search the Activity feed for the scan if you need the history.
  3. Read what to do when a scheduled scan did not run if you expected one and found nothing.
