Targets & repositories

Why is there no edit button for my target?

Quick answer

Cyberlop targets are immutable, so there is no edit button. To change a name, URL, repository, environment or team, delete the target and create it again. Deleting also removes its profiles, schedules, scans and findings, so plan before you do it.

Why this happens

A target stays as you created it. The trash icon on the Targets page says so: "targets are immutable — delete and recreate to change settings". The in-app documentation repeats the rule. The same holds for a scan profile's target. You can edit a profile, but you cannot move it to another target. This keeps every scan and finding tied to exactly the application it was run on, so your history stays trustworthy when you look back over time.

How to fix it

  1. Note the old settings. Open the target and write down its Name, Main URL, backend URLs, repository, branch, environment and team.
  2. Export what you want to keep. On Targets, use Export JSON or Export CSV. You can export issues from the Issues page too.
  3. Delete the target. Click the red trash icon on its row and confirm. Its profiles, schedules, scans and findings go with it.
  4. Create it again. Click + New target and enter the corrected details.
  5. Rebuild the profiles. Open the new target and click + New profile to set up scope, roles and reporting once more.

Still not working?

Check Settings → Plan & usage before you start, because creating the replacement counts as adding a new target and your plan may cap how many you can add each month. Read more in the monthly target limit.

If a target holds findings you must keep, export them before you delete anything. Not sure whether a change needs a new target? Ask us at /contact.
