Reports & exports

Why is there no Report button on my scan?

Quick answer

The Report button in Recent Scans appears only on completed scans. If a scan is still running, failed or was cancelled, the row shows no Report button. Wait for it to finish, or run the profile again and download the report from the new scan.

Why this happens

A report is built from a finished scan. The Recent Scans table shows the Report button only when the Result badge says Completed. Scans that are running, Failed or Cancelled get Scan and the delete icon, but no Report.

How to fix it

  1. Open Recent Scans and read the Result column for your scan.
  2. While the scan is still running, wait, because a typical scan of a small app takes roughly an hour and the Report button only appears at the end. Press Refresh on the scan page to update its status.
  3. A result of Failed or Cancelled means you should click Scan on that row to run the same profile again.
  4. When the new run shows Completed, click Report to get the PDF.
  5. Prefer the scan page? Open the row, then use Download report and choose a mode.

Still not working?

  • A failed scan can still hold findings found before it stopped. You can read them on its Findings tab and export them from Issues, even without a PDF.
  • Your role may lack permission to read reports. The API uses a permission called scan:read_report for this, so ask an admin to check your role.
  • Use the search box on Recent Scans to make sure you are looking at the right row.

For the full list of causes, see why you cannot download reports. Read the failed scans tutorial if the run did not finish. Still stuck? contact us.
