Why is the report icon missing next to my target?

Quick answer

The document icon in the Targets list shows only when the target has at least one completed scan. A target that was never scanned, or whose scans all failed or were cancelled, has no icon. Finish a scan and it appears. Meanwhile, use Recent Scans.

Why this happens

The icon is titled "Download the latest report (PDF)", so it needs a finished scan to point at. With no completed scan there is nothing to download, and the page hides the icon rather than showing a button that cannot work.

How to fix it

  1. On Targets, check the Results column. A dash means the target has not been scanned yet.
  2. Click Scan in the target's row, or on one of its profiles, to start a run.
  3. Open Recent Scans and watch the result. Only Completed counts.
  4. A run that says Failed or Cancelled needs starting again. Our guide to the scan failed banner explains common causes.
  5. Go back to Targets and reload. The report icon now sits beside Scan and the trash icon.

Still not working?

  • Confirm you are in the right workspace, because the name at the top left of the header tells you which organisation targets you are looking at.
  • Use the search box to find the target by name or URL, in case you are looking at a similar one.
  • You can always get a PDF from Recent Scans → Report or from the scan page.

Never scanned a target before? Our run a scan tutorial walks through it. Targets need a repository for white-box scans, and black-box targets need ownership proof first. Still no icon after a completed scan? contact us.
