Troubleshooting

Why does my report list fewer findings than the scan's Findings tab?

Quick answer

A report lists only findings that pass the profile's minimum severity and minimum confidence, and match the mode you picked on Download report. The scan's Findings tab can show more. Lower the filters, or pick Include fixed & accepted, to widen the report.

Why this happens

The scan and its report answer different questions. The Findings tab lists what the scan found. The report is a curated summary. The in-app guide says the final agent builds it from confirmed findings, filtered by the profile's minimum severity and confidence and by any report guidance. On top of that, the download mode removes findings that are fixed or accepted when you ask for open ones only.

How to fix it

  1. Open the scan and select Overview. Click the profile name in Run details.
  2. Go to the Reporting section and read Minimum severity and Minimum confidence.
  3. Set either one to No minimum if you want every proven finding in the report. Then click Save.
  4. On the scan page, open Download report and try Include fixed & accepted to count closed items as well.
  5. Run the profile again. New filters affect the report of the next scan.

Still not working?

  • Compare like with like. Count the same severities on the Findings tab and in the PDF.
  • Check Report guidance in the same section. Free text there can steer what the report keeps.
  • Findings that look like duplicates are merged into one, so a lower count can also be deduplication.

For the reasoning behind the filters, read how minimum severity and confidence shape your report. Still seeing a gap? contact us and tell us the scan.
