How do I get a report that shows only open issues?

Quick answer

Open the scan, click Download report, and choose Open issues only. That mode builds the branded PDF from the issues that are still open, so fixed and accepted-risk items stay out. It suits a team that wants a to-do list rather than a history.

Steps

  1. Go to Recent Scans and click the scan. A completed scan works best.
  2. Check your triage first. An issue counts as closed only after you set a disposition such as Fixed, False Positive or Accepted Risk and click Update status.
  3. Click Download report at the top of the scan page.
  4. Choose Open issues only. The browser downloads the PDF.
  5. Check the file. Compare its finding count with the scan's Findings tab, remembering that the tab lists everything while the report applies the mode.

Good to know

This mode is the one to send to the people who will fix things. It leaves out what is already settled. The reader sees only the work that remains, and nothing else gets in the way of starting it.

  • Counts can differ from the Findings tab. The tab lists everything, and the report applies the mode and the profile's minimum severity and confidence.
  • The disposition list shows Open (reopen). Use it to bring a wrongly closed issue back into this report.
  • For the other modes, read how to include fixed and accepted issues and how to report only fixed issues.

If a closed issue still appears, or an open one is missing, see why report counts differ. The PDF reports tutorial shows each mode. Need a hand? Contact us.
