Scheduling & automation

How do I schedule a single scan for a later date?

Quick answer

Open Scheduled Scans, click + New schedule, and choose the profile. Set Frequency to Once, enter the date and time you want, and click Create schedule. It runs one time at that moment in your organisation's timezone, and does not repeat.

Steps

  1. Choose Scheduled Scans in the sidebar and click + New schedule.
  2. Search for your profile in Scan profile and select it.
  3. Open Frequency and choose Once. The default is Weekly, so this change matters.
  4. Fill in Start date & time with the moment you want the scan to run.
  5. Leave Enabled ticked and press Create schedule.

Good to know

A one-off schedule suits a planned window, such as a scan right after a release, or one outside office hours when the staging site is quiet and nobody is testing by hand. What runs is the same as any other run of that profile, with the same scope, logins and report filters.

The time you enter is read in the timezone chosen under Settings → Organization. That list defaults to UTC, so confirm it before you rely on a particular clock time.

You can follow the run later in Recent Scans. Open the scan and read the Trigger field on the Overview tab, which is how you tell a scheduled run from a manual one.

If you only want a scan right now, there is no need for a schedule. Click Scan on the profile instead, as shown in how to start a scan. To repeat a scan, see how to schedule a recurring scan.

Scan only what you are authorised to test. Questions about a schedule? contact us.
