Scan profiles

How do I find a profile by name, target or tag?

Quick answer

On the Scan Profiles page, type into the box that reads Search profiles by name, target, or tag. Enter part of a profile name, a target name or a tag, and the table narrows to the matching rows. You can also click a tag chip to filter.

Steps

  1. Click Scan Profiles in the sidebar.
  2. Click the search box under the page title. Its placeholder reads "Search profiles by name, target, or tag...".
  3. Type part of what you remember. A profile name such as "full audit", the name of the target, or a tag such as "prod" all work, and a few letters are often enough to find the row.
  4. Read the table. It shows Name, Target, Tags, Vuln classes, Auth roles and Actions.
  5. Use the row actions: Scan, the pencil icon to edit, or the red trash icon to delete.

Good to know

Search matches three things at once, so a single word can bring back profiles from several places. A target name lists every profile that belongs to that target. A tag lists every profile that carries it, whichever target it sits on.

If you only want to filter by tag, the tag chips under the search box are quicker. See how to filter the profiles list by tag.

Not sure which page to use? Each page has its own search box with its own wording.

PageSearch box reads
Scan ProfilesSearch profiles by name, target, or tag...
TargetsSearch targets by name, URL, or tag...
Recent ScansSearch scans by target or profile...
IssuesSearch findings by title or location...

If a profile you expect is missing, check that you can see its target. A person only sees what their role and group scope allow. For an overview of what a profile is, read what is a scan profile.
