Troubleshooting
I deleted a target and its profiles, schedules, scans and findings disappeared too. Why?
Deleting a target cascades. Cyberlop removes its profiles, schedules, scans and findings with it, because they all belong to that target. The captured screens show no undo. Recreate the target and profiles, and export your data before any future delete.
Why this happens
Targets are the root of everything else in Cyberlop. A profile belongs to one target. A scan is a run of a profile. A schedule runs a profile. Findings persist per target. The API reference spells out the rule: deleting a target cascades to profiles, schedules, scans and findings.
You cannot edit a target, because targets are immutable. That is why people often delete one to fix a typo, only to find that the rest has gone too.
How to fix it
- Collect what you saved earlier: PDF reports, Export JSON or Export CSV files, and any tickets that mention finding IDs.
- Click + New target on the Targets page and enter the name, main URL, scan type and environment again.
- Open the new target and click + New profile. Recreate each profile, its roles and its rules.
- Add your schedules and tags again.
- Run one scan so the target has a fresh history.
Still not working?
The new target gets new findings and new IDs, and the old history cannot come back through any of the pages we captured, so plan on a fresh start. If it matters to you, write to our contact page with the target name and the time of the delete. We cannot promise a recovery, so ask early.
Next time, export first. Targets has Export JSON and Export CSV, and Issues has both as well. If you only want to change a setting, read how to change target settings and why targets are immutable first.
