Open Settings, go to the Organization tab, change the number in Retention (days) and click Save changes. The workspace we captured showed 365. You need the settings:update permission, and an admin can still delete scans, targets and data at any time.
Steps
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- Open the Organization tab.
- Find Retention (days). It is a number field, and the workspace we captured showed 365.
- Type the number of days you want.
- Click Save changes, then reload the page and check the number held.
Good to know
The Security page says retention is configurable in Settings. It also says admins can delete scans, targets and data at any time, so you do not have to wait for the period to end.
Our capture does not show what the app does at the end of the period, so we will not guess. Read the Privacy page or ask us before you set a low number for a regulated record.
Delete by hand
Deleting is a separate action with its own rules.
| Action | What it removes |
|---|---|
| Delete a scan | The run and its workspace; the target's findings stay |
| Delete a target | The target, its profiles, schedules, scans and findings |
Saving takes settings:update. If the save fails, ask an admin. Before you shorten retention, think about the people who read old reports. Export what you need from Issues and Targets, or download the PDF report, because a shorter period leaves less history to open later.
Questions about how long we hold your data? Ask on the contact page. See also how to delete your data at any time, and read data minimisation for the idea behind a shorter period.
