Why don't I get critical or high alerts for my teammates' scans?

Quick answer

The critical and high email alert covers only scans you started. Only SuperAdmins receive it for every scan in the organisation. Your teammates need their own box ticked for their runs. Want a shared feed? Connect a chat webhook under Settings.

Why this happens

The alert is personal, and that is the whole story. The box on My Account reads "When a scan finds critical or high issues (my scans; all scans for SuperAdmins)". That wording sets the rule. You get mail for scans you started. A SuperAdmin gets mail for all scans. Everyone else hears nothing about runs a colleague launched, even when one of them finds something critical in an app you look after.

Each person controls their own box, and each alert goes to the address on that person’s card. You cannot tick it for someone else, so the rule stays simple, and you can tell at a glance who will hear about which scan without opening any other screen in the app.

How to fix it

  1. Open My Account and check the Email notifications card. Tick the critical and high box for your own scans.
  2. Ask each teammate to tick their own box. They then hear about the scans they start, in their own mailbox, without any help from you.
  3. If you need to hear about every scan, ask an administrator whether your role should be SuperAdmin. Role changes happen in Administration, so check with your admin.
  4. For a shared feed, open Settings and choose Notifications. Paste an HTTPS incoming-webhook URL from your chat tool and press Save webhook.
  5. Press Send test message and look for it in the channel, which proves that the webhook address works before a real scan depends on it.

Still not working?

  • The webhook posts the target name, finding counts and a link to the scan. It never posts the findings themselves, and it sends only your organisation’s scans.
  • Anyone with access to the right targets can also open the Issues page at any time, and read every finding there without waiting for an email to arrive.
  • Compare the two options in email notification types and chat notification contents.
