Troubleshooting

Why won't my report logo save?

Quick answer

A report logo usually fails to save because it is a web link, an SVG file, or an incomplete base64 data URI. Cyberlop accepts only a full base64 image data URI for PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP. Paste one into Report logo and click Save changes.

Why this happens

The Report logo box takes one kind of value, and it must be a base64 image data URI that holds the whole picture inside the text. Remote links and SVG files are not allowed, because the report renderer would otherwise fetch them from a server.

How to fix it

  1. Open Settings → Organization and look at what is in Report logo (optional). Delete any web address.
  2. Make sure the source image is a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP. Should your logo be an SVG, export it as a PNG first, since the report renderer will not take SVG at all.
  3. Convert the image to a base64 data URI with any base64 image tool. A PNG result starts with data:image/png;base64, and then a long run of characters.
  4. Paste the entire string. A cut-off paste is a common cause, so check that nothing was lost at either end.
  5. Click Save changes at the bottom of the tab.

Still not working?

  • Saving the Organization tab also saves the company name, retention and timezone. Check those fields are valid too.
  • Changing settings needs the settings:update permission. If you cannot save anything on this page, ask an admin to check your role.
  • Try a smaller, simpler image. The data URI lives in one text box.

I do not have the exact error text for a rejected logo, because it was not captured. When a message does not match any of the above, contact us and quote the wording, so we can check it against the app. Setup steps are in how to add a logo to reports.
