How do I send a test message to my chat webhook?
Open Settings, choose Notifications, make sure a webhook URL is saved, then click Send test message. Cyberlop sends a short test post. Look in the channel your webhook points to, and give it a moment to arrive. The button stays disabled until a webhook is set, so save first.
Steps
A test proves the link between Cyberlop and your channel before a real scan finishes.
STEPSIf nothing arrives
Work through these checks.
- Confirm the status pill no longer says No webhook — notifications are off.
- Make sure the URL starts with https and comes from your chat tool's incoming-webhook setup.
- Check that the webhook still exists and points at the channel you are watching.
- Paste a fresh URL, save it, and test again.
Good to know
Cyberlop also offers this check through the API. POST /api/settings/verify-webhook sends a test message to the URL in the body, or to the stored one. It needs the settings:update permission.
Cyberlop stores the saved URL encrypted and never shows it again, so you cannot read it back to compare. If you are unsure, enter a new URL.
If the button stays grey, read why the test button is disabled. To set up the webhook from scratch, follow the connect steps. Questions go to the contact page.
Run a test after any change that touches the chat side, such as renaming a channel, archiving an old one, or moving to a new workspace in your chat tool. A webhook can break without any warning in Cyberlop, and the first sign is a quiet channel on the day a scan ends. That check catches it early. Do it now.
